Outside of class time, Vitznau offers a variety of sports and leisure activities throughout the year, including swimming, hiking, tennis, golf, biking, beaches and windsurfing in the summer. For winter sports, opportunities for skiing, snowboarding and ice-skating are nearby. The best skiing in the area is on the 3,02 0 meter (10,000 foot) Mount Titlis.
Vitznau is an important tourism destination, welcoming visitors from all around the globe and offering all of a larger town’s normal conveniences, such as public transportation, post office, grocery store, pharmacy, hairdressers, hotels, restaurants & cafes, banking and sport shops.
Lake Lucerne is Switzerland’s most famous and second largest inland lake. In addition to public transportation connections by train and bus, Vitznau is served by direct ferry service into the center of Lucerne. What began in 1837 with a one steam-ship operation has grown into the largest, most successful ferry system in Switzerland with 5 nostalgic paddle steamers and 15 modern motor vessels.
DCT’s location offers students easy access via road and rail, meaning that a wide variety of European destinations are only hours away! For longer trips, the DCT campus is less than an hour from Switzerland’s largest airport in Zurich.
